There are a number of different locations where you can get help with planning a trip, getting an Opal card and other transport enquiries.

Sydney CBD

  • Monday to Saturday: 06:00 to 20:30
  • Sundays and public holidays 07:00 to 20:30

Located on the Grand Concourse at Central Station, the Customer Service Centre can help with trip planning for all public transport in NSW. There is also free WiFi available.

You can get an unregistered Adult or Child Opal card, or top up your existing Opal card.

However, the Transport Customer Service Centres at Central and Circular Quay do not accept cash payments.

  • Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 19:00
  • Weekends and public holidays: 08:30 to 17:00

Located opposite Wharf 5 at Circular Quay on Alfred Street, the Customer Service Centre can help with trip planning for all public transport in NSW. There is also free WiFi available.

Transport Shops are located at major bus interchanges in the Sydney CBD. At Transport Shops you can get:

  • trip planning information for Sydney
  • Adult and Child/Youth Opal cards as well as top up your card balance.

Information offices provide train information and timetables.

If you don't have an Opal card, Opal single trip tickets can be purchased from Opal top up and single trip ticket machines located at most train stations.
