Getting to Moore Park

Catch a light rail service to Moore Park on the L2 Randwick or L3 Kingsford lines to get within short walking distance of the precinct’s venues. The stop is adjacent to Anzac Parade opposite Sydney Girls High School north of Lang Road and Cleveland Street.

L2 Randwick services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street). L3 Kingsford services run between Circular Quay and Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Trams run every 5 to 15 minutes on weekdays and weekends.

During major events, additional services will run between Central and Moore Park to get you to and from the event – see upcoming events for details.

Shuttle buses between Central and Moore Park will continue to operate for some major events to support light rail services when required.

The former Route 1 shuttle buses will continue to operate for some events to support light rail services when required.

There are a number of a regular route buses that stop along Anzac Parade, Oxford Street and other nearby roads within short walking distance of Moore Park. Plan your trip to Moore Park by bus using the Trip Planner.

Express event shuttle buses will run between Central and Moore Park for some major events – see upcoming events for details. 

Public transport services to Moore Park can be very popular particularly during weekday peak periods or during major events. Consider walking to the precinct instead.

The walk from Central Station to Moore Park is around 2.3km and takes approximately 20-25minutes. Take the Devonshire Street exit at Central Station (southern concourse) and continue up Devonshire Street, across South Dowling Street via the light rail pedestrian bridge then onto the Albert 'Tibby' Cotter Walkway to arrive opposite the Sydney Cricket Ground on Driver Avenue. Follow the same walking route on the return trip to Central Station.

You can also make use of the new Anzac Parade pedestrian bridge to safely and easily cross Anzac Parade if you have parked at Sydney Girls or Boys High School.

Pedestrians are reminded to exercise caution around the tram tracks and cross at designated pedestrian crossings.

Parking is available at Moore Park’s Entertainment Quarter multi-storey car park (casual and/or flat rate event parking fees apply), entry via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road.

During major events parking may also be available at the grass car parks on Driver Avenue, entry from Moore Park Road or Lang Road and at Sydney Boys High School and Sydney Girls High School, entry from Cleveland Street – check upcoming events for car park operating details and times for events.

On event days, Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the SCG and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area. No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue during this time.

Special event clearways

Special event clearways will be in effect on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas during major events including sections of Moore Park Rd, Albion St, Lang Rd, Chalmers St, Fitzroy St, Flinders St and Foveaux St. Visit Live Traffic NSW for more details on the locations and times of special event clearways during events at the SCG.

Clearways are strict no-parking zones, and apply even to local residents or RMS Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs before parking as vehicles left in special event clearways will be towed and a towing fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, it will be moved to the nearest legal parking space, you can call 132 701 to speak to an operator and find its new location.
